
Headmaster Apolonio Latar III
Theology, Philosophy & History
Founding Headmaster Apolonio Latar brings more than fifteen years of experience in education and youth ministry, including nine years teaching Theology at St. Paul VI Catholic High School in Chantilly, where he has also served for three years as Academic Dean of Curriculum. He earned his B.A. in Philosophy from Rutgers University, a theology degree from Pontifical Lateran University, and his M.Ed. in Administration and Supervision from Marymount University. His scholarly work has appeared in respected journals such as Communio, Religions, and Humanum Review, and he has curated exhibits and delivered presentations on cultural, educational, philosophical, and theological topics.

Miss Ava Quaale
Literature, Language Arts & Theater
Miss Quaale hails from Northern Virginia and discovered her passion for storytelling from a young age. She received a B.A. in Theatre from Franciscan University and is currently pursuing her M.A. in Shakespeare Studies from the University of Birmingham. Miss Quaale joins us from Chesterton Academy of St. Benedict in Columbus, Ohio, where she taught literature and drama. She is delighted to be returning home and joining our founding faculty. In her spare time, Miss Quaale enjoys reading classic novels, traveling to new places, and writing an occasional play.

Mrs. Cathleen Koszeghy
Music
Mrs. Koszeghy graduated from Franciscan University with a B.A. in Sacred Music and a concentration in Voice. She went on to teach for the past four years at Holy Spirit Catholic School in the Diocese of Arlington. Her family has personally experienced the excitement and joy of the Chesterton educational model, and she is thrilled to be joining the founding faculty of Chesterton Academy of Christ the King. She and her husband live in Alexandria, VA, and recently welcomed a baby son.

Mr. Jason Leaver
Mathematics
Mr. Jason Leaver was raised in the Midwest and fell in love with mathematics and the sciences in high school. After graduating from Northwestern University with an Economics degree and an MBA from the University of Virginia, Mr. Leaver was commissioned as a naval aviator. He flew F-14 Tomcats and served as an instructor pilot, teaching young naval aviators and flight officers the mathematics, aerodynamics, and tactical decision-making essential to flying, fighting, and landing the Tomcat aboard aircraft carriers. He later commanded a fighter squadron and Naval Air Station Oceana. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Jason has long been passionate about Catholic education and is committed to partnering with parents to form the next generation of saints at Chesterton Academy of Christ the King.
